November 18 – Acts 7 – 8

What a testimony Stephen was!  And what contrast he was to Saul.  But God has plans for Saul as we shall see later in our readings.   Did you notice that as a result of Stephens testimony or speech to the Sanhedrin that great persecution broke out that day.  And that led to all believers, except for the Apostles being scattered throughout Judea and Samaria.  What a way to disperse the witnesses and those that would carry the message of Jesus to other parts of the world.  Not how I would have planned, but as we are told and as we see time and time again, God’s ways are not man’s ways.

I am struck by only one question in chapter 8 – “Ever wonder what happened to Phillip”.  Was he the first one to ever use a transporter similar to what we see in Star Trek.  I can’t help ponder all that took place that day; there is truly a wonder in it all.  One minute Phillip is on the desert road that leads to Gaza and the next moment he is at Azotus…. All I can say is God is God and when you walk with Him we need to expect the unexpected.

Until next time – Be encouraged
